I Hate Fanboys

Ok, there is DVDs of Star Wars Episode IV - VI coming out soon, right?

There may or may not be certain things changed in these movies.

The Fanboys are outraged! They won't buy them! Fear my wrath, Lucas!

All this for under three minutes of changed footage, most of which won't be noticeable?

Jeesus. It's almost as stupid as the "Han Shot First!" whinge.

Who the fuck cares? It's still 98% the same movie you saw in 1977/1980/1983, dumb-arse!

I swear, if I hear another dickhead saying, "He raped my childhood/my inner child!" I am going to go Cambodian on someone's arse!

...And sheesh, I've heard about people passing judgement...but on something that hasn't been released?

It's just a movie, boys and girls, just a movie.

Greens still with pixies at bottom of garden, invite ALP to join them...

Now the Greens are threatening to scuttle a preference deal with the ALP unless it blocks the Australia-US Free Trade Deal.

Bob Brown is an even bigger wanker than I already thought.

Just goes to prove that the Australian Greens aren't environmentalists - they're watermelons.

Green on the outside, red on the inside.

And its...

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Will the fanboys start a petition to change this one, too?

Only time will tell.

The Once and Future King

Just saw the new movie King Arthur.

Not bad, a few historical inaccuracies, but these were easily overlooked. Though its probably more accurate than the crockumentary that was showing next door.

Bit long though, and one character's death will have you going, "Eh?!"

Looks nice...

Obsession ill-becomes a Jedi Knight. Nonetheless Obi-Wan Kenobi is on a damned-fool idealistic crusade to confront his greatest opponent, and challenge the hold of the dark side. In a quest spanning worlds, Obi-Wan seeks out the Separatist Asajj Ventress in a bid to finally bring the dark Jedi to justice. Accompanied by Anakin Skywalker -- now a Jedi Knight -- Obi-Wan's journey will bring him to the besieged world of Boz Pity, and culminate in an explosive confrontation that sets the stage for the events of Episode III.

More here.

Accurate Casting? Bleh!

Now, they're making a miniseries based on the Earthsea series, ok? (First two books, I think).

The only little snag is the casting.

Observe...

Ogion: Danny Glover.

Interesting, not who I had in mind, but could work...

Thar: Isabella Rosselini

Ok.

Tenar: Kristin Kreuk

Hmmm...not sure, could work.

and finally..

Ged: Shawn Ashmore

WHAT THE? The novel specifically describes him as dark-skinned.Ol'Shawn is fairer than me! If you are going to have Ogion as African, Ged should at least be Middle-East/Indian level of darkness.

*grumble*

I RULE! Wallabies suck.

Hah! Perfect round of NRL tipping.

In the other code, the All Blacks beat the Wallabies. I blame the weather.

Everyone else does.

Australian Political Quiz

Since there's an election coming up:

Take this quiz to see where you stand on the Australian political spectrum.

My score:

Economic Freedom 13
Social Freedom 10

But I tend to shy away from giving "extreme" answers in the test.

I ended up to the right of the ALP and the Liberal Party and to the left of the LDP.

I think I was closest to the Liberals though.

Though I think the ALP has moved to the left a bit since they were mapped on this spectrum in this quiz. (Or maybe they just keep nodding with Bob Brown because's he's a spunk or something?)

Fucking hilarious site at 419Eater.

You know the Nigerian Email scam?

The site's goal: To waste the time of scammers, and (hopefully) scam money out of them.

Hilarity Ensues.

Shittest Reigning Champions Ever

Just how the hell does the reigning NRL champion lose to the Rabbitohs of all people?!?

God damn Penny Panthers, they can't take a trick.

And as for the Roosters losing to the shithouse Eels. Bah!

And as for my TIPS....

Roosters over Dragons
Panthers over Raiders
Tigers over Storm
Cowboys over Eels
Warriors over Rabbitohs
Bulldogs over Sharks
Broncos over Knights

Highest Possession Percentage: Bulldogs

Meoooow!

George W Bush's pet policy causes dissent:

Thiruvananthapuram, July 2: Angry youths in this Kerala capital Friday burnt an effigy of US President George W. Bush, not because they are anti-American but because he has named his cat India.

"This is a disgrace to our great country and this has come from none other than US President George W. Bush. This is nothing but an insult to India because there are hundreds of thousands of Indians in US, and many who occupy key posts in the White House," said M.A. Latheef, president of the group.

"He should make amends," Latheef added.

My suggestion for a new, non-offensive name for little cat India: Curry-Muncher

Now this is how you fight terrorism...

Iraqis to Jordanian Al'Qaeda git Zarqawi: Fuck off, or die.

An armed group calling itself the "Salvation Movement" has threatened on video to kill al-Qaeda-linked Jordanian militant Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi if he does not leave Iraq immediately.

"The apostate, criminal Zarqawi and his henchmen must leave Iraq immediately," said a statement read by a masked gunman on the tape, who had a clear Iraqi accent.

Five men, their faces covered with Arab headscarves, were flanked by rocket-propelled grenades, pistols, rifles and an Iraqi flag.

"We swear to Allah that we have started preparing ... to capture him and his allies or kill them and present them as gift to our people," he said.

"This is the last warning. If you don't stop, we will do to you what the coalition forces have failed to do."

From news.com.au

And if you actually want some news from Iraq, rather than the crap doled out by journalists in Middle-Eastern bars and cocktail lounges, Chrenkoff has you covered.

More nuance!

Here is an update on the most important issue currently affecting the world.

Namely, where is that elusive second picture of Francesca Willis? You know, the one that got her suspended.

Well, thanks to the Yobbo and ZGeek, here it is:

(By the way: Not work safe)

And here's some more happy shots of the young girl.

Man, I wish I went to parties like that in my school days.

...Or now, for that matter.

Anyway, I promise: No more posts on suggestive photos of teenagers.

...For at least a week.

A teenage girl from Sydney's most exclusive co-educational school has been suspended after sexually suggestive photographs were sent to fellow and former pupils.

Barker College suspended 17-year-old Francesca Willis, a part-time model and HSC student, after two photographs featuring poses in uniform in a year 12 common room appeared in emails from as far afield as London.

Before they were (sorta) famous...

It just struck me, upon rewatching the film clip for the TISM song Thunderbirds Are Coming Out, that I have seen someone in it before.

Is this that guy from Big Brother and Neigbours, Blair whatever-his-name-is?

Observe the evidence...

The '80s are returning...

The 1980s are coming back with a vengeance, and I'm loving every minute of it.

Well, the shows, that is.

First, there is the Transformers cartoon on DVD, released by Madman. I currently have the first and half of the second season, and I must say, they've done a good job.

The next one comes out on the 21st of July.

Then there is the Star Wars Episode IV - VI set coming later this year. They will look very nice next to my Episode I-II DVDs.

And they have some beautiful special features.

Very nice indeed.
