Forget all you thought you knew about the third world, the actual statistics show something far more interesting.
The biggest story, of course, has been the collapse of third world birth rates since the 1970s. In fact, they've fallen quicker than they did in the Industralised World.
And, as if it really needed to be said, the example of Mauritius shows that globalisation and free trade work, despite what the "anti-globalisation" idiots say.
