We're Number 1

...in piracy.

“According to Envisional, a web monitoring company, Australians are responsible for 15.6 percent of all online TV piracy, bested only by Britain, which accounts for 38.4 percent. The US lags behind in third position at 7.3 percent."

We're number one probably because a) we get TV series at least one season late, and b) we have too many damn ads on TV. Though I'd rather that than TV licences...

Series I download:

Stargate SG1
Stargate Atlantis
Lost
Top Gear
Doctor Who
Life on Mars

Why? Aussie TV sucks balls

The current model of TV is crap, and should be changed. What it should be is TV on demand. As in, you say, "Hmmmm, I want to watch (insert show here). "You go, click on that show, and you get the high quality stream for...20 cents or a dollar...whatever it is.

That would go a long way to solving piracy.

Some Aussie drama is OK. I don't mind the odd Aussie detective show. Can't stand Blue Healers or medical dramas though.

Blue "Healers"? Now that sounds like a medical drama....or porn film. ;)

Ha. And to think I some times tell people how to spell my last name by saying like 'blue heeler'.
